This event is designed for students; parents may escort their students into the gym or drop the students off at school by 8:00 am. Students will participate in activities preparing them for middle school and end with lunch in the cafeteria.
Any student or parent wishing for a school tour are welcome to join us in the cafeteria at 11:45.
Students in the 7th and 8th grade who are new to KLMS can register for the camp; we will have a separate group for these students to learn about Kelly Lane before the year starts.
Schedule Pick-Up
Students will have the opportunity to pick up their schedule on Saturday, August 16th. This is a preliminary schedule and is subject to change, but it will help us identify and resolve concerns prior to the start of the school year.
- 6th grade: 8:00 - 10:00 (please bring copies/prepare to present documents proving residency)
- 7th grade: 10:00 - 12:00 (please bring copies of the updated immunization record, if it was not previously submitted)
- 8th grade: 12:00 - 2:00
First Day of School
The first day for students is Monday, August 25th. Students will receive a new copy of their schedule on the first day of school; 6th grade students should report to the gym, 7th and 8th grade students will report directly to their 1st period class. Rosters for 7th and 8th grade students will be hung in the hallways.
Students do not need to bring all of their school supplies on the first day of school; they will need a notebook and a pen/pencil. We will issue lockers to students during the first two weeks of school. Students will have access to lockers before/after school, before/after lunch, and before 7th period.
Dress Code
Please remember to review the PISD dress code before shopping for clothes this school year. We don't want students or parent to be frustrated when students must change their clothes after arriving at school.
