KLMS Information & Open House

Knights,

Good evening!  We enjoyed meeting so many incoming students and families during the Welcome Walk yesterday evening.

OPEN HOUSE tomorrow.  Tomorrow, starting at 5:30 PM we will open the school for students and families to explore the school, locate their Catapult class for the first day of school, and attend some presentations if desired.  This is not a required event but it is highly encouraged for any families new to KLMS or middle school, or for students that are anxious about the first day.

The sessions offered tomorrow are:

  • Skyward assistance (used to monitor grades) - Room 114 @ 5:30
  • Teen brains and social media - Cafeteria @ 6:00
  • Navigating middle school as a parent - Cafeteria @ 6:30
  • Teen stress - Library @ 7:00
During the day on Friday (Aug 12), we will post the list of students with their Catapult teacher in their Google Classroom as well as we will hang a list at KLMS for students not in the Google Classroom.  The 7th and 8th grade students will report to their Catapult classes at 8:15 Tuesday morning.  Prior to 8:15, students will be in their academic hallway.  The 6th grade students will report to the gym.

Please take a moment to look at the June blog message for important information about backpack/drawstring bags and immunizations for 7th grade students.  Until students have lockers, they will be allowed to carry their backpack in the hallways.  Once lockers are issued (generally the 2nd week of school), students will stow backpacks in their lockers and may carry a drawstring bag.

Students do not need to bring all of their supplies or Chromebooks the first day.  They only need something to write on and a writing utensil.

See you soon!
