Week Two

Knights,

We hope everyone enjoyed the first week of school!  It was great to see everyone back with such energy and anticipation.  We look forward to continuing this success as the year progresses.

I have received questions about online access to student grades.  Many of you are aware that PfISD implemented a new student records system this year and I have been told that as soon as the parent portal is ready, an email will be sent to all emails on file.  From this email, you verify the email address and then will receive additional instructions to sign up for access.  I do not have an exact timeline but the PfISD technology implementation crew are working as quickly as they can to launch this program.

What's new this week?
Lockers- students have already received/will soon receive their locker.  Lockers are distributed in accordance to the class students have before lunch; this maximizes the efficiency of retrieving lunches from their lockers.

From the point students are issued lockers, they are expected to place their backpacks in their lockers throughout the day.  Students may carry a sling bag or plastic grocery-like bag to carry PE clothes if necessary.  Students may access their lockers before/after school, before/after lunch, and before 7th period.  8th grade athletes and 6th grade students may bring their backpack to their 7th period class; all other students can retrieve their personal items at the end of the day.

Open House- we will host an Open House on Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:30 pm.  Parents will have the ability to follow their students' schedule to meet the teachers and visit classrooms.  Parking will be difficult so please plan ahead.

What's happening after that?
Student and Staff Holiday- School will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.  Have a safe, long weekend!

Reminders

  • Please return your first day packet of information if you have not already done so.
  • Students should be dropped off/picked up in the back of the school.  Drop off is 7:45 to 8:05 and pick up is 3:35 to 3:45.  Students arriving after 8:05 should come in through the front of the school and report to the office.
  • Please refrain from parking in the front of the school after 3:00 to prepare for bus arrival.
  • All students have agendas provided by the school, be sure to check the agendas!
