Knights,
I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break; we are excited to see everyone back January 6th! Here are some highlights of information and processes:
January 6th will be asynchronous for all virtual students; this is the same process we used at the start of the 2nd nine weeks to help make sure any student with a schedule change has access to their new class before needing to meet with a teacher.
On-Campus students should review the presentation on the KLMS website to familiarize themselves with the expectations and procedures.
The only students that should report to KLMS are students that were previously on-campus and those students that selected to return to campus using the Google Form from Nov. 18-Dec. 9. We cannot accommodate students wishing to return to campus if no request was submitted by December 9th.
Free Meals for 2021 Spring Semester (from food services): As we start the Spring 2021 semester, breakfast and lunch meals will continue to be free, regardless of free/reduced/paid status for our students. This includes in-person and curbside learning, as well as anyone 18 or younger, via USDA allowances. This does not include ala carte or extras.
Quarantined Students. If your student needs to quarantine due to exposure at school/outside of school please have them participate in class as a virtual student (similar to the start of the year). If they had direct exposure outside of school, we ask that you notify the teachers, the assistant principal of their grade, and Julie.Scarpato@pfisd.net (attendance specialist). If your student was placed in quarantine by the school, notifications to the staff are not necessary as they will have been notified during the contact tracing process.
If your student tests positive for COVID, please contact Katelyn.Kunz@pfisd.net (school nurse) as soon as possible. This notification will allow us to complete contact tracing protocols and provide other families with quarantine information quickly.
Boundary Discussion: The district will be holding Town Hall Boundary Discussion Meetings to gather community input regarding the opening of Carpenter Elementary and Bohls Middle School in the fall. They will be held on January 6, 7, 11, and 12 via zoom. The zoom links are specific to the date and can be found on the PFISD calendar.
