Early Release & Valentine's Dance

Knights,
Students have an early release Wednesday, February 4th.  The KLMS faculty will be participating in training off campus, please make sure students have arrangements for afterschool.  As a reminder, students should leave campus by 3:45 unless they are with a teacher or staff member for prearranged activities.

There is a KLMS dance on Friday, February 6th for all grades.  Please see the website for times and ticket information.  If you are interested in helping at the dance, please volunteer by clicking here.

I read a great article about the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual changes that are occurring in ours students.  A copy of the article can be found here, but below is a snapshot of some of the information.  The biggest takeaway for me, as a middle school parent and educator, is that we need to constantly help our students become more independent by helping them achieve the autonomy they crave.  I know many students are just developing these skills, so our role is guiding them to find their own voice is critical.  It’s a learning process for all of us, together (school and parent) we can help empower our students so they may find their own potential.

Have a great day,
