Public Presentation & KLMS Swag

 Knights,

I hope your student has settled into a rhythm of school!  Now that the weather MIGHT be turning cooler, recess is definitely more fun!  Here is some information and reminders.

Public Presentation of Accountability - Wednesday, September 28, 2022 via Zoom

It is a requirement for me to present our TEA ratings and Campus Improvement Plan every year.  I will present it via Zoom this year; hopefully reducing the time required for parents to hear the information.  The presentation includes a review of our TEA accountability rating (B rating), a review of campus needs, and major initiatives from the Campus Improvement Plan.  Join me at 6:00 pm via Zoom!

New KLMS Swag

We have some KLMS branded items for purchase - all proceeds go to the principal fund. The principal fund allows me to fund reward activities for students and appreciation events for teachers (operating funds cannot be used for these things).  These items are available through the PfISD webstore (link to the store) and will be delivered to your student upon purchase (unless otherwise indicated).
  • KLMS decal sticker ($5.00)
  • Breakaway lanyard ($5.00)
  • Water bottle ($10.00)

School Expectation Reminders

  • Please help your student remember their ID.  It should be worn waist level or higher in a manner that it is easily visible.  If they forget their ID, they can obtain a temporary ID from the front office.  Students with repeated failures to wear their IDs may be subject to detentions.
  • Ask your student about their locker - we are finding that several students struggle to determine what items they need to take to class and what can stay in the locker.  For example, their lunch can go in their lockers and does not need to be carried throughout the morning.
  • If your student is coming to a game, please remind them to have their ID and please know that tickets must be purchased online (no cash).  This can be done ahead of time - you can screenshot/print the QR code and bypass the need for cell service at the door.  Purchasing online at the door has been difficult for some depending on cell service - it is almost always terrible at Hawk Stadium (football games).
  • Breakfast is free for all students, but lunch is only free to students who have qualified.
  • Progress Reports will be coming out soon - they will be in Skyward under "portfolio".

Thank you all for your continued support of KLMS and the students!
