Let's get ready for another week of crazy weather!
8th grade Parents:
This week, we are hosting a Zoom meeting for any 8th grade parent who did not attend an in-person meeting and would like more information about high school planning. The meeting will be Tuesday at 6:00 Pm; please see the email from Rebecca Embry for the Zoom link. The presentation is available on the KLMS website (link to webpage). On this page you will find:
- Presentation slides with access to speaker notes
- Links for applicable resources (guides, elective lists, planning tools)
- List of Pathways that are not available at all high schools (the pathway names are links)
When we receive information about Take Flight! (HHS 9th grade orientation, typically in August), we will post information on the transition page linked above.
All Parents:
- *CANCELLED* At this time, the Valentine's Dance scheduled for February 11th is on hold. If it appears it will be safe, we will notify students by Monday, February 7th. However, it is unlikely with current infection rates.
- Choice sheets for 6th and 7th grade students are due February 11th. All students should have a choice sheet by the end of this week - if your student is absent have them see a counselor upon thier return.
- KLMS will host a COVID vaccine clinic on Feb. 16th from 3:00-6:00 for 1st or 2nd doese and boosters. All staff, students, and members of staff families are eligible. Please complete this Google Form so they can plan for the number of vaccines needed.
SCHEDULE DISRUPTIONS Feb. 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15:
Students will be particpating the the TEA STAAR Interim tests on the days listed above. ALL students will be testing online this year and the testing platform is completely new to students, this opportunity will give them a chance to become familiar with the testing platform, as well know what to expect and where to go during STAAR testing in May.
To accommodate the amount of testing, we will be flip our schedule so students are not missing the same classes. Students will only miss class if it is a testing day. Click here for testing days and schedule changes.

- A copy of the 2020-21 TAPR report is available at this link. A printed copy has also been placed in our front office. The TAPR report in the Texas Academic Performance Report, the 2021 Accountability Rating for KLMS was "Not Rated: Declared State of Disaster".
- A copy of the 2021 Federal Report Card is available at this link. A printed copy has also been placed in our front office.
- Upon request, a copy of either of these reports can be made and available for pick up in the office.
