Knights,
We hope you have had a great
start to the school year! Students are
doing great and seem to be settling quickly.
By now, you are hopefully
adjusting to school starting at 8:20am.
We want to clarify the morning procedures for everyone as those have
changed from last year. The doors of the
school are open for students starting at 7:45am, at which point the students
report to the cafeteria. Please know
that there are no teachers on contract/duty before 7:45am. Students are then dismissed to their hallways
at 8:00 until 8:15am. At 8:15am,
students go to their locker and report to first period. Lockers will be issued this upcoming Friday and
the following Monday; until then students are able to carry their backpacks.
When tutorials start,
students will need a pass to attend teacher tutorials but they will not need a
pass to attend Knight Lab. If you are
unfamiliar with Knight Lab, it is from 7:45-8:15am in the library and provides
a quiet place for students to get help on homework or access the school
computer. Knight Lab will start Tuesday,
September 4th.
We hope to see you Thursday
night at Open House, we will start in the cafeteria with general announcements
at 6:00pm. If you are new to KLMS,
please know that parking is always difficult for large school events; the back
lot will be available. If you park in
the neighborhood, please be aware that you cannot block driveways. Your student should bring home a blue paper
with their schedule on Tuesday or Wednesday (these will be completed in Social
Studies classes). Open House will be over at 8:00pm.
