Hello
Knights!
We are so
close to the opening of school- are you ready?
Tuesday, August 15th we have something for everyone!
The 6th grade camp to
help orient our newest knights will be from 8:30-11:00. There are only a few slots left if you want
to help out, but here is the link for the Sign Up Genius. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C084BADAD2EABFD0-6thgrade1.
The PTO
will be selling spirit wear, so feel free to come by and stock up even if you
are not a 6th grade student/parent.
6th Grade residency
checks (8:30am-12:00pm)-
all 6th grade parents should have received an email from Vanessa
Antu regarding the requirements for the residency check, but here are the
highlights in case you the information again. All incoming 6th graders must show
proof of residency -regardless of the elementary school they student attended.
It requires 3 pieces (mortgage statement or lease agreement, utility bill (gas,
water or electric) and a driver’s license). We will accept proof of residency during
Course Verification Pick-up on August 15th from
8:30am-12:00pm. When you come to Course Verification Pick-up please be
prepared to show proof of residency and then fill out 1st day packet
information.
7th grade course
verification pick up and immunization updates (4:30pm-7:30pm) – all 7th grade
students must have their updated immunization record on file prior to the first
day of school. Many parents/students
provided these records last year or over the summer, if so, you have fulfilled
the requirement. When you come to Course
Verification Pick-up please be prepared to show proof of updated immunizations,
if you have not already submitted them, and then fill out 1st day
packet information.
8th grade course
verification pick up (4:30pm-7:30pm) – When you
come to Course Verification Pick-up please be prepared to fill out 1st
day packet information.
What is a
course verification and is it different than a schedule? Course verification will provide a list of
courses that the student is scheduled to take; the purpose of this verification
is to avoid confusion on the first day if a student by correcting any errors before
the first day of school (wrong level of course for example). This also lets students know which electives
fit into their schedule so they can plan for the upcoming year. It is not a schedule because the course are
not in order and teachers are not listed.
We will be balancing classroom sizes, correcting any errors discovered,
and adding new students so schedules will not be provided until the first day
of school.
I will
send out additional emails later with upcoming dates and expectations for the
first day of school.
Enjoy your
weekend,
Dina
